Watch for the birdies

With the weather starting to warm up again, the need for the pool increased, so Uncle Jack made the necessary adjustments.

Louis, Abigail and Josh went to the 'oval' (local Australian Football/cricket/park) at the end of the road to throw one of his Xmas presents around. Nush came to join in the sprinting races...

And gymnastic competitions ensued.

Even Josh had a go

In the afternoon, Anna and Jack took Abigail, Louis and Josh for a trek in the Dandenongs mountain range to a forest of gigantic eucalyptuses, waterfalls and...

Rosellas! These very colourful birds needed very little encouragement from the pirate children and they quickly swooped down to say hello.

After so much wildlife interaction, there was a need for chocolate. (In case you were wondering where Nush was when these adventures were being had ...she was in the CBD amidst a crowd of over-eager bargain hunters, exploring Melbourne's shopping jungle.)

The evening was a chance for Nush and Josh to catch up with the cousins for cocktails and fun.

Followed by more drinks and the rematch of a late night card game to give Josh the chance to win at something.

As the group went their separate ways, some sad farewells were made. Roll on our next reunion... Bali 2017 anyone???
