First leg of air travel complete

We arrived in Singapore at 530 this morning after 13 hours in the sky. Flight was great but Louis and Abigail were way too excited to sleep so we're all a bit worse for wear now! Apparently I am the nicest passenger one steward has ever had on his flights (Josh fails to believe this is what he said - he and the kids are convinced I misunderstood!) I assume his comment was in relation to my uncharacteristically calm handling of KosherMealGate. All our special order meals were served straight from the freezer, making them somewhat difficult to enjoy. Frozen orange juice is one thing but frozen veggie pate is quite difficult to spread on frozen bread without sharper implements than are allowed on board a regular flight. The kids ate egg sandwiches for 13 hours and I was easily placated with more coffee and a steady stream of Galaxy chocolate bars from the cabin crew. We will be following their recommendations and trying out the "Muslim" or "Vegetable" meal options next flight.

What a fabulous airport - clean, bright and super efficient! 15 minutes after leaving the plane we were already  in a bright red taxi cab on our way into the city. The hotel has surpassed all expectations so far (we've gone camping for the past summers) and to quote Abi, "Oh Lordy this is a bit posh!" We'll be cleaning up and resting for a while before we set out again to explore the city .
