We woke up to the best view so far. The sun was shining, the sea was calm(ish) and blue, and a family of wallabies were hopping around outside our room. So cool! After breakfast there was only one place we could go... the beach! Andrew had already been out surfing before breakfast.
Louis, Abi and Hugo had a great time and Andrew even let them have a go on his surf board.
It was a couple of hours' drive back to Melbourne and we had to stop to fuel up on iced coffee halfway!
In the evening the kids enjoyed Auntie Respect's homemade polenta pizza and the company of their grandparents whilst Josh and Nush went into the city for a belated anniversary dinner courtesy of Norma and David.
After a delicious meal at La Luna, we spent a bit of time wandering round our old neighbourhood in Carlton. 13 years later our apartment block was still there on Drummond, as was Nush's favourite haunt, the Nova cinema (she used to watch every film showing when Josh was on nightshift at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.) Everything else seemed to have changed, the streets were bustling with activity in Little Italy at 10pm!
After a brief search for our favourite dessert stop, Brunetti, we found it had been relocated and refurbished inside the Nova complex. It was pretty impressive! We shared some passionfruit and strawberry sorbets and enjoyed reminiscing and (according to Louis and Abi) being very boring indeed.
