We woke to the all too familiar sound of thunderous rain pounding against the windows of our Sydney accommodation. A big storm was brewing. Our plans for a coastal walk were quickly dashed, like the pavement, by giant hailstones. Lise to the rescue though! She swooped by our house, swept us all up in her car and delivered us to "Flat White" around the corner for yummy coffee and some brunch.
After, we headed into the CBD and down to the Powerhouse Museum where we were lucky enough to get tickets for "The Art of The Brick:DC Comics ". This phenomenal exhibition showcases the work of Nathan Sawaya who creates artwork out of ordinary Lego blocks. We were all taken by his exploration of the concepts of good and evil through the depiction of superheroes and their nemeses and spent ages wandering around the galleries. Here are a selection of his pieces:

At the end of the exhibition, the kids managed to find a gaming station, "It's been so long since we've had a chance to play anything." Its only been 5 days children, that's less than a week...
Abigail and I had a go at making our own Lego superhero which we added into the Hall of Fame. Introducing... Super Pacman...
We also had a brief look around some of the other collections. We especially liked the environment awareness section. Louis felt there were some good ideas there for LEO council,
We caught a bus back to our home where cousin Dan was already waiting to whisk us round to his and Jules' flat in Bellevue Hill just around the corner. The weather had improved significantly, so we set off for Bondi beach via a fish and chip shop to pick up our supper.
Cousin Kira and Sarah joined us at the beach for food and after we were unable to eat anymore, we all went down to the sand for a giant game of frisbee.
As the light faded, we headed round to chez Jules and Dan for ice cream and a quick game of Dobble.
Our Australian family all had to go to work in the morning so we bid them farewell for the night and headed back to our place. We'll meet up with everyone again in Melbourne over Christmas week, but it was great to have a chance to be together again!
